ENSE is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, management and mobilization of crude oil and petroleum products reserves, as being strategic reserves, safeguarding the national central stockholding entity functions.
ENSE’s competences are as follows:
Establish and maintain or hire maintenance for crude oil and petroleum products strategic reserves, in rented or own facilities;
Pursue suitable technical and financial management strategies for optimization, preserving operational efficiency and good environmental practice;
Follow companies obligations fulfilment on stockpiling and ensure a fair balance between public purposes entrusted to them and business interests of related economic agents;
Cooperate with the implementation of petroleum products reserves management policy drawn up by the Government.
